Once a week, 5th graders that are available help collect the recycling bins throughout school. They are also responsible for collecting from common spaces like the office, media center and copy rooms. We dump the paper in the red & green dumpster in the back. That afternoon, 4th & 5th graders from After-Care redistribute the bins around the school. We have 15 large paper bins and 4 bottle bins around school for the classrooms to dump their classroom collections in.
We also recycle materials in the FUNraiser bin in the car loop. All ink and toner cartridges are recycled in the office too. Both of these collections net us money for our environmental and wellness projects. Please drop off your home items to help us.
We also recycle the milk and juice cartons in the cafeteria, which has greatly reduced the waste created.
